The gas laws; The International Standard Atmosphere (ISA);Mathematics Review, Physics Review, Thermodynamics Review, Subsonic Aerodynamics, Supersonic Aerodynamics, Measurement of airspeed, temperature, α and sideslip, Pressure Error Corrections (PECs), Estimation of PECs at non-test heights and weights, Experimental methods of  performance reduction: Performance parameters and equations, Thrust and Drag Equations, Drag polars, Range and Endurance, Specific Excess Power, Turn Performance, E-M Diagrams, Climb and descent performance, Engine-out performance.

Stability and Control Flight Tests Module

Reversible/irreversible flight control systems, Mechanical characteristics of controls, Handling Qualities, Introduction to servo mechanisms, Block diagram algebra, Bode Plots, Root Locus Method, Equations of motion, Aerodynamic Derivatives, Longitudinal static stability, Longitudinal Maneuvers stability, Longitudinal dynamic stability, Lateral and directional static and dynamic stability, Maneuvers boundaries, Rolling performance, Low Speed handling, High Mach Stability and Control, Aeroelasticity and Flutter, Closed-loop Handling Qualities testing, Higher Order Flight Control Systems.

Avionics and Systems Flight Tests 

Statistics, Computing, Attitude Heading and Reference Systems (AHRS), Electro-optics, Head-up Displays (HUD), Head Mounted Displays (HMD’s), Voice Activated Controls, Inertial Navigation (IN) systems, Global Positioning System (GPS), Flight Management Systems (FMS), Navigation sensors, Radar testing, Electronic Flight Information Systems (EFIS), Autopilots and FMS, Electro-Optics, NVGs and FLIR, Electronic Warfare Systems (EW), Systems Integration, Test Range Procedures, Weapons Test Planning, Stores Carriage and Release trials, weapons ballistics, Mission planning, Test Range Operations and Safety, Sensor Fusion, Future Developments.

Introduction to Helicopter Performance Flight Tests

Helicopter Stability and Control Flight tests

Introduction to servo mechanisms; Block diagram algebra; Bode Plots; Root Locus Method; Equations of motion; Aerodynamic Derivatives; Mechanical characteristics of controls; Handling Qualities; Longitudinal static stability; Longitudinal Manoeuvre stability ; Longitudinal dynamic stability;; Lateral and directional static and dynamic stability; Low Speed handling ; Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS); Advanced Flight Control Systems (NRC).
